Fantastic stay at Cwm Connell - incredibly well furnished and beautiful property with lots of lovely touches. The walk down to the witches cauldron was a highlight. It's uniquely placed between Cardigan and Newport but benefits from feeling like it's the middle of nowhere. Thanks to Emma and Alex for being so welcoming!

Absolutely stunning location & the warmest welcome from Emma. We stayed in Yr Ffald as my husband is disabled, very well thought out & spacious accommodation for a wheelchair. We also have 4 dogs who thoroughly enjoyed the doggie paddock & endless walks....not to mention cosy nights in front of the log burner!. Perfect holiday in everyday.

I’ve just returned from running a glorious Yoga weekend retreat at Cwm Connell. My students and I took over all the cottages and the Yoga Shala. Alex and Emma are wonderful hosts, always on hand to help with any queries. The beautifully refurbished cottages are of the highest specification, each with its own identity, from one bedroom studios to 3 bedroom cottages with outdoor seating areas. Emma has great taste - the decor, fixtures and fittings are all stunning! Locally sourced bread, (the most heavenly) honey butter, coffee and fresh flowers are found in each cottage. The open air hot tub, cold water pod and sauna add to the fun! The Yoga Shala is a beautiful space with views over the fields. It has its own upstairs lounge and dining area (and almost finished kitchen). Although the weather was a little blustery (storm Kathleen made an appearance) it didn’t stop us all from blowing away the cobwebs with a walk down to the sea! I can’t thank my students, Emma & Alex and Tanya O’Gaia (who catered in the evenings) enough for a splendid weekend and I can’t wait to run another Meadowside yoga retreat at this beautiful location next year!

Cwm Connell is a proper home away from home. The cottages have been refurbished to a high standard with beautiful furnishings and wooden flooring that makes them very dog-friendly but with a very luxury finish. The location is superb as a base for walking, cycling and otherwise exploring this spectacular part of the world. I've been out riding bike most days and my fitness has measurably improved as a result – in country this hilly there's nowhere to hide, but the sheer beauty of the scenery makes the work worthwhile. Emma and Alex are attentive, caring hosts who looked after us really well – a far cry from the typical Air BnB absentee holiday-let owner. Facilities for dog owners are excellent, with a washing station for when they get muddy and plenty of throws to stop the furniture getting too doggy. We always felt that the dogs were as welcome as we were. High points of our too-brief stay included the dog-friendly beaches at Ceibwr Bay and Poppit Sands, which also has an excellent cafe with good coffee, ice cream and food; watching scores of red kites coming in for a feed at Bwlch Nant yr Arian; The Plwmp Tart cafe at Penbryn; and the warm welcome at the Pavilion Cafe at Penrallt Garden Centre, which is just 20 minutes' walk from Cwm Connell.

This is a fantastic holiday retreat, and now even better with the superb update since our previous visit 2 years ago. Everything is designed for comfort, including the super-comfy beds. Emma is a great host, very friendly and attentive to detail. It's also not just dog friendly, but very accommodating, with a wonderfully large & enclosed paddock for them to run around in (which also has lovely sea views) and other facilities including blankets, towels and even a dog hair dryer 😀. We cannot recommend Cwm Connell and Emma highly enough.

We stayed in one of these cottages this time last year and had a wonderful holiday. Emma could not have been more welcoming, the cottages have been beautifully renovated with style and comfort in mind. There is a walk down through the woods to a secluded bay or a short drive either direction takes you to deserted sandy beaches. We enjoyed the amazing coastal views and the lovely nearby town of Cardigan. You don’t need to have a dog to stay here! Also, Emma is an amazing Reflexologist, I highly recommend booking an appointment with her during your stay.

Perfect location for a holiday and great to be able to bring our three dogs with us. The cottages are lovely and the facilities for dogs outstanding. Only a quick walk through a quaint wood to a small cove or the option to use a dog paddock. The surrounding area/beaches/restaurants are very dog friendly too.

I stayed in one of the updated cottages (Ty Twt) with my partner and we absolutely loved it. The new owners are attentive and helpful and have done great remodels on some of the cottages already. They're installing new blinds as we pack up our car to leave lol. The location is a short drive from at least two beaches and a few towns. We enjoyed the sauna, hot tub, new kitchen. We petted the owners' dogs who were very polite. Google Maps tries to direct you to an unpaved road marked "deliveries only" but I would recommend driving past that turn and taking the longer paved way to get to the property.

Lovely cottages in the middle of nowhere, its peaceful and beautiful setting with the coastal path nearby. The hot tub and sauna were a delight at the end if the day. Emma and Alex are very welcoming and helpful when needed. We had a fantastic time exploring the area and the nearest beach, Poppit Sands is beautiful and very clean. Definitely recommend but a car is essential due to location of cottages which we were aware of. There are lots of lovely towns and beaches to visit nearby also some fabulous pubs/restaurants that are dog friendl too. Over all we had a fantastic time and saw some breathtaking views

Charming complex of cottages, along a quiet track. Feels like miles from anywhere. Lovely owners, very present and we saw them every day. Cottage for 2 is comfy, well equipped, with enormous bed. Feels laid back and welcoming of dogs - great paddock for them to run about safely, plenty of towels and a wash point for dirty boots/paws. DVDs library, and laundry, very handy. We enjoyed the mini spa - hot tub and sauna, overlooking the fields. Decent walk down the hill to the little bay, our dogs loved it. A bit weird, as vegans, being so close to cows and goats (farms very close by) but it didn't diminish our enjoyment. Lovely Woodstove for cheer in the cooler seasons. Overall lovely, would recommend
